Rules

  • All strokes must be counted according to the USGA rule book (unless otherwise stated below). There are NO GIMMES and NO MULLIGANS at any point.

  • Players are able to move balls from divots and/or pickup and clean ball IN THE FAIRWAY ONLY

  • In order to maintain the pace of play, there is no out-of-bounds ruling. Instead, any player that either hits it out of bounds, or loses a ball will be able to drop at the point of entry while taking a hazard penalty.

For Example – If a player tee’s off and hits the ball into the left side street, then they can drop at the point of entry and hit three.

  • If you can find your ball on the golf course, you can play it.

  • Any concerns about a ruling during a registered round can be handled based on the participating AGL member’s discretion.

    INTEGRITY

Integrity is a core value of The Amateur Golf League, and we take it very seriously. Golf is a game of honor, and we expect all our members to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship and fair play.

Cheating, in any form, will not be tolerated in our league. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any behavior that violates the game’s rules or undermines our league’s integrity. This includes cheating on your scorecard, breaking the rules set by the golf league, or engaging in any other unethical behavior that may put our relationships with our partnered golf courses at risk.

We understand that mistakes can happen, and we encourage our members to be honest and transparent if they make an error on their scorecard or violate a rule by accident. However, intentional cheating or dishonesty will result in immediate expulsion from the league.

By joining our league, you are committing to improving your golf game and being a part of a community that values honesty, integrity, and fair play. We encourage our members to lead by example and to hold each other accountable for upholding the highest standards of sportsmanship both on and off the course.

If you’re a good golfer, and enter a 25 handicap, we all will find out sooner or later. So please do us all a favor and play with integrity.

    CHEATING COUNTERMEASURES

    • Handicaps for all AGL members will be reviewed after every official round. If significant score discrepancies are found that go against a player’s handicap, then said player’s handicap will be adjusted accordingly.

    • We understand that people can have good and bad rounds, but if you’re a registered 25 handicap and shoot a 75, there’s something off there.

    • All players must play with another league member during their official round to account for each player’s score. No exceptions.

    • Periodically, members of the AGL team will be present during registered rounds and watch player activity.
